(Q. 61 - 64): Read the passage carefully and answer the following questions. How do leaves send out excess of water? Why are they not storing water for their own use? To understand this, we have to understand how the leaves work. Each leaf is made up of hundreds of microscopic cells in layers. The upper and lower layers of each leaf have hundreds of minute pores called the "Stoma". Each stoma is enclosed by a pair of bean shaped structure called guard cells. These cells regulate the openings through which water is released in vapour form.
