Exam Pattern

Questions asked in both the papers of NICL exam are Objective Multiple Choice Type. In addition to the objective paper asked in Mains exam, a descriptive paper of 30 marks will also be asked.

NICL Exam will be conducted in three phase: Preliminary exam will be conducted first followed by Mains Exam. After the declaration of result of Mains Exam, interviews will be conducted for the selected students to determine the final selection for the post of Associate Officer through NICL exams.

Descriptive Test

The Descriptive Test will contain 3 questions asked in English that will carry a total of 30 marks and has to be completed in 30 minutes.

Final Selection

An Interview Process will be conducted for all the candidates clearing the Mains Exam to determine the final selection of the candidate to the post of Assistant Officer through NICL AO 

Eligibility

There are basic 3 criteria which a candidate needs to fulfil to be eligible for NICL AO Exam

  • A candidate is required to be either a Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • A candidate is required to hold a valid Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with an aggregate of 60% and above from a recognized university for NICL exam.
  • A candidate is also required to be aged between 21-30 years while applying for this exam.
