Exam Pattern

The IBPS PO 2019 exam is going to be conducted in three phases:

  • Preliminary examination,
  • Mains examination and
  • Interview Process
The Preliminary Exam has to be completed within a time frame of 1 hour. It is conducted in online mode in three sections namely Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language.
Candidates must clear the cut-off in all 3 sections to qualify for the IBPS PO Main exam.
A candidate has to clear both preliminary and mains examination to be eligible for the interview process

Eligibility

Nationality

  • A citizen of India or A subject of Nepal or A subject of Bhutan or A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of settling permanently in India or A person of Indian origin who migrated to India from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam and have the intention of settling permanently in India
  •  All these refugees or migrants must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India issued in their favour

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age Requirement: 20 years
  •  Maximum Age Requirement: 30 years
  •  A candidate must not have been born before 01.08.1989 and not after 01.08.1999 (both date inclusive)

Education Qualification

  • A candidate must possess a minimum qualification of Graduation from a recognized University/Institute in any discipline
  •  A candidate must possess valid marksheet/degree certificates that state that he/she is a graduate on the day he/she registers for the exam. It should also indicate the percentage of Marks obtained in Graduation while registering online

Every section asked in IBPS PO Exam has its importance and weightage. So it’s really necessary for the candidates to prepare for each section separately and with extra care keeping in mind their strengths and weaknesses. This will help them to make less error in the exam and score more.

Quantitative Aptitude: If you know all the basics and formulae related to each chapter, then this section is a piece of cake for you. To score high in this section, you need to get your basics right. Questions asked in this section are mostly direct and formulae based.

Reasoning: This is a tricky section, hence prepare accordingly. Time management and accuracy is really necessary in this section.
