Deep sea plains are gently sloping areas of the ocean basins. Also known as an abyssal plain, it is an underwater plain on the deep ocean floor usually found at depths between 4500 and 6000m that extends from the continental rise to the distant deep ocean basin where continental-derived sediment deposition is not significant.
