Bajrang Punia won the Male Sportsperson of the Year Award at the FICCI India Sports Awards in December 2020. The FICCI India Sports Awards 2020 have been conferred by a jury headed by Mukul Mudgal. Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia is the only Indian wrestler to have won three World Championship medals (one silver and two bronze).
