Section 8 of this Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act,1986 makes every offence Cognizable but Bailable.
Bailable offence: are those offences, when bail can be given to arrested person from police station itself. There is no necessity to produce him before the magistrate.
Cognizable offences: are those offences where police have the power to arrest any person without a warrant even.
