There are three major cropping seasons in India. These are
(i) Rabi (October to March) -Important crops are wheat, oat, barley, etc.
(ii) Kharif (July to October)Important crops are rice, millet, maize (corn), cotton, etc.
(iii) Zaid (March to June) - Important crops are watermelon, cucumber, muskmelon, sunflower, etc.
