The students of Pinecrest Culinary Institute had a mouth-watering morning yesterday. They were completely enchanted by the skill and creativity of the renowned chef, Mr. Antonio Rossi. The entire kitchen hall sat in hushed silence for an hour. All that broke the quiet was a gasp of delight or the sound of spontaneous applause, appreciating a brilliant technique. Out of his gleaming chef's kit came exotic spices, fresh herbs, and colorful vegetables of every possible variety and seemingly endless culinary potential. It happened in such quick succession that everyone was left gasping. One or two young students stepped forward to examine a delicate, spun-sugar sculpture, wondering how hot syrup could become so beautifully fragile. As if that was not thrilling enough, he created a towering, multi-layered chocolate masterpiece right on the prep table. This was the grand finale.
The children did not want the session to conclude. They shouted for ‘more’, ‘keep going’. But Chef Rossi gave them a warm smile and carefully wiped his favorite knife. The students milled about, eagerly discussing the secrets of gourmet cooking. Then they walked out excitedly recounting what they had seen and how wonderful it was. One of the girls, Maya, declared loudly, it was the most delicious cooking masterclass of the year.
