Both 1 and 2 are correct.In 1875, a committee was appointed to inquire the conditions of all factories. After effect of this committee, factory act 1881 was adopted. The act prohibited the employment of children under the age of 7. Children between the ages of 7-12 were to work for a maximum of 9 hours. It was passed during viceroyship of Lord Rippon.
