The word secularism means understanding and respecting religions without any discrimination . Article 25 to 28 of the Indian Constitution deals with the Right to Freedom of Religion . The SR Bommai case ruled that secularism is the basic feature of the Indian Constitution. The Freedom of Religion is a fundamental right under Part III of the Indian Constitution guaranteed to all persons in India . The word secular is also included in the Preamble of the constitution after the 42nd amendment act in 1976 .
