Granville Austin considered Directive principles of state policy as aiming at furthering the goals of social inclusion. He was of the view that core of the commitment to the social revolution lies in Part III and IV, in the Fundamental Rights and in the Directive Principles of State Policy. These are conscience of the Constitution.
