1\;\frac{1}{4}, 1\;\frac{5}{6}, 1\;\frac{7}{8}, 1\;\frac{8}{9}

In all these cases as integral part 1 is the samewe’ve to compare only

\frac{1}{4},\frac{5}{6},\frac{7}{8}

and

\frac{8}{9}

Among

\frac{5}{6},\frac{7}{8}

and

\frac{8}{9}

as the difference between numerator and the denominator is the same, the value of the fraction increases as the numerator increases. Hence

\frac{5}{6} < \frac{7}{8} < \frac{8}{9}

\frac{1}{4} < \frac{5}{6}

Hence

\;\frac{1}{4} < \;\frac{5}{6} < \;\frac{7}{8} < \;\frac{8}{9}
