On electrolysis of sodium chloride chorine is obtained. The production of Cl results in the co-products as caustic soda and hydrogen gas. The reaction at cathode is given as, 2H+(aq)+2e−→H2(g) The reaction at anode is given as, 2Cl−(aq)→Cl2(g)+2e−
