(c) Let the original speed of

aeroplane be x kmph.

According to the question,

\frac{1200}{x-300} - \frac{1200}{x} = 2

= 1200 \left( \frac{x - x + 300}{x(x-300)} \right) = 2

= x(x-300) = \frac{1200 \times 300}{2}

= x(x-300) = 600 \times 300

= x(x-300) = 600(600-300)

= x = 600 kmph.

Scheduled duration of flight = 1200

= 2 hours
