Fermi energy level for P-type extrinsic semiconductor is closed to valance band. For ptype semiconductor, there are more holes in valance band then there are electron in conduction band. This implies that the probability of finding an electron near the conduction band edge is smaller then the probability of finding a hole at the valance band edge therefore fermi level is closed to the valance band in a P-type semiconductor
