Lakshmi Kant Jha was the chairperson of Jha Committee for Indirect Tax (1974); Justice Kailash Nath Wanchoo headed Wanchoo Committee (1976) which recommended Income Tax Settlement; Chelliah Committee (1991) was constituted under Prof Raja Chelliah which recommended Tax reforms; Khusrau Committee (1989) was constituted under an economist, A.M. Khusro which gave recommendations on agricultural credit system.
