Kerala ranked first in Sustainable Development Goals Index 2019-20. The Index was released by the NITI Aayog. Kerala was followed by the Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are ranked at the bottom of the Index. Chandigarh topped the Union Territories list. On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha were among maximum improved states. NITI Aayog prepares this Index on the basis of achievements of States and Union Territories across SDGs.
