Velds are grassland of Africa. It is dominated by species of red grass. Velds are mainly situated in the Southern Africa. They are used for pasturage and farmland. Locally, Velds are categorised into different types on the basis of as elevation, cultivation and climate. Thus, there is a high veld, a middle veld, a low veld, a bush veld a thorn veld, and a grass veld.
