The Rohtang pass tunnel has been named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in December 2019. This connects Manali to Lahaul and Spiti Valley throughout the year and will reduce the length of the Leh-Manali Highway by around 46km. It is built under the Rohtang Pass in the eastern Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas. Atal Bihari Vajpayeewas first non-congress Prime Minister to serve for full tenure.
