The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) constructed a 440m long tunnel to boost the Char Dham Project in Uttarakhand. It is constructed in Chambatown on the Rishikesh-Dharasu road (NH-94). Under the Chardham Project costing about ₹ 12000 crore, the BRO is constructing 250km of the national highways leading to the holy shrines of Gangotri and Badrinath.
