RK Shanmukham Chetty was first Minister of Finance of independent India. He presented the first budget of independent India on November 26 , 1947. He also served as President of India's Central Legislative Assembly from 1933 to 1935 and Diwan of Cochin kingdom from 1935 to 1941.
