The crust is the outermost layer of Earth. The eight most abundant elements in the Earth's crust are Oxygen (O), Silicon (Si), Aluminum (Al), Calcium (Ca), Iron (Fe), Magnesium (Mg), Sodium (Na) and Potassium (K). Carbon is not among these eight elements that make up 98% of the rocks and minerals we see around us.
