(3) 'Ashtadhyayi', a Sanskrit treatise on grammar was written by the Indian grammarian Panini in the 6th to 5th century B.C. This work set the linguistic standards for Classical Sanskrit. It sums up the science of phonetics and grammar in 4,000 sutras.
