(4) Fa-Hien was a Chinese pilgrim who visited India during the rule of Gupta ruler Chandra Gupta II. He visited India during the year 399 and returned to his homeland, China, in the year 414. Fa-Hien came to India with a view to trace the origin of the Buddhist religion.
