(3) Pulakesin II (610–642 A.D)was the most famous ruler of the Chalukya dynasty. In his reign the Chaluky as of Badami saw their kingdom extend over most of the Deccan. He is famous for having defeated Harshavardhana of Kannauj on the banks of the Narmada.
