(2) The Shivalik Elephant Reserve is located in Uttarakhand. It covers the Corbett Tiger Reserve and the Rajaji National Park, besides the forest divisions of Dehra Dun, Hardwar,Lansdowne, Haldwani,Tanakpur and Ram Nagar. The ambitious project is aimed at saving the rare breed of the Asian elephant from getting extinct in the country.
