(1) Bhagat Singh, Rajguru And Sukhdev were hanged for their complicity in the Lahore conspiracy case on 23 March 1931.The case pertained to the murder of British police officer,John Saunders, in Lahore in December 1928. Saunders was mistaken for the British police superintendent, James Scott,whom they believed was responsible for the death of Lala Lajpat Rai.
