(1) Prokaryotes do not possess a membrane-bound nucleus where as a nuclear membrane is present around the nucleus in the eukaryotic cell. The blue-green algae or cyano bacteria are prokaryotic and possess autotrophic mode of nutrition. In unicellular organisms, all of the life processes like respiration,digestion, excretion, reproduction and metabolism are performed by a single cell only.
