Alā-ud-Dīn Khaljī (1296–1316)was the second most dominant and powerful ruler of the Khalji dynasty that ruled the Delhi Sultanate in the Indian subcontinent. The Slave dynasty was founded by Quṭb al-Dīn Aibak, a favourite slave of the Muslim general and later Sultan Muḥammad of Ghūr. Illtumish and Balban were the kings belonging to the Slave dynasty.
