As per the 19th Livestock census 2012, there is 577.32lacs Livestock (which include Cattle, buffalo, Sheep, Goat, Horse & Ponies, Mules,Donkeys, Camel, Pig) and Poultry 80.24lacs.
Animal Husbandry is a major economic activity of the rural peoples, especially in the arid and semi-arid regions of the Rajasthan. The development of the livestock sector has a significant beneficial impact on generating employment and reducing poverty in rural areas.
