The Loop Of Henle is found in the kidney. It is the portion of a nephron which leads from the proximal convoluted tubule to the distal convoluted tubule.
The German anatomist Friedrich Gustav Jakob Henle discovered and named it. The Loop of Henle creates a concentration gradient in the medulla of thekidney.
It allows filtration to take place by providing the gradient so that the filtrate can pass through diffusion.
