Chand Bardai was an Indian poet. He composed Prithviraj Raso, a poem, in Brajbhasa.
This poem is about the life of the Chahamana king Prithviraj Chauhan (12th-century Indian Rajput king).
It depicts himself as a court poet of Prithviraj.
As per this poem, Chand Bardai traveled to Ghazna and helped Prithviraj kill Muhammad after Prithviraj was defeated at the second battle of Tarain and taken to Ghazna by Muhammad of Ghori.
There are many versions of Raso as many authors added their versions (mostly imaginary) to the poem but scholars agree that a 1400 stanza poem is the real "Prithviraj Raso".
