Luni enters Jodhpur district near Bilara and flows for a distance of over 75 km. before entering in Barmer district.
Luni originates in the Pushkar valley of the Aravalli Range, near Ajmer and passes through the southeastern portion of the Thar Desert .
It ends in the marshy lands of Rann of Kutch in Gujarat.
Luni River flows through Ajmer, Barmer, Jalore, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Pali, and Sirohi districts of Rajasthan and the Banaskantha and Patan districts of Gujarat.
Sukri, Mithri River, Bandi, Khari, Jawai, Guhiya and Sagi are the left bank tributary of River Luni.
Jojari is the right bank tributary of River Luni.
Jaswant Sagar Dam was built in 1892 by Maharaja Jaswant Singh is one of the largest artificial lakes in India.
