Hypermetropia or long sightedness is a condition in which an individual is able to focus on far away objects but nearby objects appear blurry because the light from nearby objects gets focussed behind the retina instead of on it.
One of the cause for this is the contraction of the eyeball because of which the retina gets closer to the pupil and the light instead of falling on the retina, travels past it.
This can be corrected using a convex lens which focuses the light on the retina
