Gujarat, the state of India, located on the country’s western coast, on the Arabian Sea.
The state is bounded primarily by Pakistan to the northwest and by the Indian states of Rajasthan to the north.
Madhya Pradesh to the east, and Maharashtra to the southeast.
The coastline of Gujarat is 992 miles (1,596 km) long, and no part of the state is more than 100 miles (160 km) from the sea.
The capital is Gandhinagar, on the outskirts of the north-central city of Ahmadabad.
It was in Ahmadabad that Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi built his Sabarmati ashram.
Southeastern Gujarat is crossed from east to west by the Narmada and Tapti (Tapi) rivers, both of which empty into the Gulf of Khambhat.
Uttar Pradesh-
Uttar Pradesh, the most populous and fourth-largest state of India.
It lies in the north-central part of the country.
On January 26, 1950, when India became a republic, the state was given its present name, Uttar Pradesh, Northern State.
Its capital is Lucknow, in the west-central part of the state.
Punjab-
It is a state of India, located in the northwestern part of the subcontinent.
It is bounded by the Indian states of Jammu and Kashmir to the north.
Himachal Pradesh to the northeast, Haryana to the south and southeast.
Rajasthan to the southwest and by the country of Pakistan to the west.
The city of Chandigarh, within the Chandigarh union territory, is the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana.
The word Punjab is a compound of two Persian words, panj (five) and āb (water), thus signifying the land of five rivers (the Beas, Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi, and Sutlej).
West Bengal-
It is a state of India, located in the eastern part of the country.
It is bounded to the north by the state of Sikkim and the country of Bhutan.
Northeast by the state of Assam & East by the country of Bangladesh.
South by the Bay of Bengal & southwest by the state of Odisha.
West by the states of Jharkhand and Bihar & Northwest by the country of Nepal.
West Bengal ranks as one of the smaller states of India, it is one of the largest in population.
