The 2019 Nobel Prize for Economics has been jointly won by Indian-American Abhijit Banerjee, his wife Esther Duflo, and Michael Kremer of the United States for their experimental approach towards alleviating global poverty.
Abhijit is currently Ford Foundation International Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
