When female Anopheles bites, it injects sporozoites into the blood stream of a human. From the blood, they enter liver cells and multiply within cells (merozoites). Inside blood corpuscles, these merozoites form gametocytes. The female Anophelestakes up these gametocytes along with blood and meal.
