Layering is a method of propagating a plant in which a shoot is fastened down to form roots while still attached to the parent plant. Grafting or graftage is a horticultural technique whereby tissues of plants are joined so as to continue their growth together. The upper part of the combined plant is called the scion while the lower part iscalled the rootstock. Cutting is a means of vegetative propagation where a cut portion of a plant forms a full adult plant.
