The Nipah Virus outbreak took place in May-fune 2018 in Kozhikode and Malappuram district of Kerala. Nipah Virus (NiV) is a zoonotic disease that affects both animals and humans. Fruit bats have been identified as carriers of deadly virus. It was first recognised in 1999 in Malaysia.
