Queen Elizabeth II reigned since her father's death in 1952 (in 2012 she celebrated her Diamond Jubilee - 60 years as queen) until she passed away in 2022. Her eldest son, King Charles III (previously the Prince of Wales) became the new monarch. His elder son, William, Prince of Wales is next in line.
