For electron P, the values of quantum numbers are n = 3, l = 2, ml = −2 and s = +1/2. For electron Q quantum numbers are n = 3, l = 0, ml = 0 and s = +1/2. Therefore, from the quantum number values, electron P belongs to 3d− orbital and electron Q to 3s − orbital. Energy of the orbital is s < p < d < f.
Hence, energy of electron P is higher than electron Q.
