Solution:

x^2 = 81

\Rightarrow x = \sqrt{81} = \pm 9

y^2 + 13y + 36 = 0

\Rightarrow y^2 + 9y + 4y + 36 = 0

\Rightarrow y (y + 9) + 4 (y + 9) = 0

\Rightarrow (y + 4) (y + 9) = 0

⇒ y = – 4 or – 9
