It was found that while making a transaction customers used either Debit card or Cash. Out of those making transactions using debit cards some of them (in percentage) getting 10% cash back, while those making transactions using some of them (in percentage) getting 2% cashback.

In Restaurant C on the given day Rs. 200 per person has been made as the cashback while making transactions through debit card and the number of people visiting the restaurant has been 800. What would have been the amount returned by the restaurant as cashback to the people who made transactions using a debit card?

Use the given relationship for Restaurant C to find the number of debit-card users eligible for cashback, then multiply by the cashback amount per person.

Explanation:

Let the total number of visitors in Restaurant C be

100c

From the given data for Restaurant C, the number of people getting cashback through debit cards is

24c

It is given that the total number of visitors is

800

So,

100c = 800 \Rightarrow c = 8

Therefore, number of people eligible for debit-card cashback

= 24 \times 8 = 192

Cashback given to each such person is

Hence, total amount returned as cashback

= 192 \times 200 = 38400
