Question Numbers: 105-114Directions: Read the given passage carefully to answer the following questions. Each question will have five alternatives as its answer. Choose the correct option as your answer. In today’s hyper-connected world, a dangerous phenomenon known as Toxic Productivity has taken root, often masked as ambition or dedication. It is the unhealthy, often compulsive, urge to be perpetually working, feeling acute guilt during downtime, and prioritizing the quantifiable metric of output over one's actual mental or physical well-being. Unlike healthy ambition, which is driven by purpose and moderated by balance, toxic productivity is fueled by the fear of inadequacy and a relentless need for external validation. It fosters a culture where being "busy" is conflated with being "important."This culture is aggressively promoted by both societal pressures and corporate structures. Social media platforms, for instance, are rife with the glorification of the "hustle," where influencers present a skewed, non-stop lifestyle as the only path to success. Corporately, the constant push for lean staffing and aggressive, often unrealistic, deadlines normalizes and rewards toxic habits, such as working late, skipping meals, and ignoring vacation time. This environment subtly punishes genuine work-life balance, making employees fear that time not spent producing is time wasted, leading to chronic anxiety and a refusal to truly unplug. The consequences of this mindset are severe and far-reaching. Psychologically, it rapidly leads to burnout, manifesting as cynicism, exhaustion, and reduced professional efficacy. Ironically, the very goal of achieving more is undermined as constant stress hinders cognitive function and creative problem-solving. Furthermore, the neglect of self-care and sleep precipitates physical health issues, including chronic fatigue and compromised immune function. It is critical to recognize that a constantly 'on' mind is an inefficient mind.Reversing the effects of toxic productivity requires a fundamental shift in mindset and corporate policy. Solutions begin with ___________: establishing "no-work" times and spaces, and prioritizing rest as a necessary component of productivity, not a reward for work completed. Individuals must learn to differentiate between high-impact "work" and low-value "busywork." Ultimately, a healthier, more sustainable view of work-life balance must be adopted, one that judges success by quality of life and genuine achievement, rather than simply hours clocked.
