Problem with Version 1 = it calls for the writer to pay himself or herself for completing his or her own work. Problem with version 2 = it makes the company’s payment to the writer contingent on the writer’s evaluation of the company. Version 1 creates the impression that the writer must pay the writer. Nowhere in Version 1 does it stipulate that the company must pay the writer. Version 2 creates the impression that the writer can decide whether the company is acceptable. It is as if the writer can decide if the company is acceptable or not.
