(i) $\mathrm{CH}_3-\mathrm{C}\equiv\mathrm{CH}$ can provide white ppt. with $\mathrm{Ag}_2\mathrm{O}$, as it can give aldehyde as intermediate product. (ii) $\mathrm{CH}_3-\mathrm{C}\equiv\mathrm{CH}$ can give aldehyde on treatment with $\mathrm{Hg}^{2+}/\mathrm{H}^{+}$, which on reduction with $\mathrm{NaBH}_4$ gives $2^{\circ}$ -alcohol. The $2^{\circ}$ -alcohol gives blue colour with ether during victor meyer test.
