Arthur Kornberg synthesized the DNA in vitro. Arthur Kornberg did outstanding contributions to molecular biology. He first time isolated DNA polymerase, the enzyme which assembles DNA from its components, and the first to synthesize DNA in a test tube, for this work he got a Nobel Prize in 1959.
