The Rowlatt Act empowered the British government to arrest any person without reason and imprison without trial.
The official name of the Rowlatt act was "anarchical and revolutionary crimes act".
Rowlatt act was passed on 6th February 1919.
Gandhiji called Rowlatt Act as "black act".
Mahatma Gandhi decided to fight against the Rowlatt Act and he gave a call for satyagraha on 6th April 1919.
Lord Chelmsford was the British viceroy who gave the consent to the Rowlatt act.
