Concave lens forms image at a distance
v then using lens equation,
f11=v11−u11⇒−201=v11−−301⇒v11=−301−201=600−50⇒v1=−12cm so, 1st image is formed at
12cm left of concave lens.
Now, first image will serve as an object for convex lens.
So, object distance will be
17cm to left of convex lens.
u2=−17cmf2=+10cmusing lens equation again,
f21=v21−u21⇒v2=7170=24.2cmfrom convex lens.
But distance between concave and convex lens is
5cm. Hence, image will be formed at a distance of
24.2+5=29.2cm to the right of concave lens.
