Question : 11 of 61
Marks: +1, -0
sec x = 135\frac{13}{5} , x lies in fourth quadrant.
Solution:
sec x = 135\frac{13}{5} gives cos x = 513\frac{5}{13}
tan2x\tan^2 x = sec2\sec^2 x - 1 ⇒ tan2x\tan^2 x = 16925\frac{169}{25} - 1 = 14425\frac{144}{25} ⇒ tan x = ± 125\frac{12}{5}
⇒ tan x = 125\frac{-12}{5} ⇒ cot x = 512\frac{-5}{12} [since x lies in fourth quadrant]
sin x = tan x × cos x
⇒ sin x = 125×513\frac{-12}{5} \times \frac{5}{13} = 1213\frac{-12}{13} ⇒ cosec x = 1312\frac{-13}{12}
